Initial stages of success (Our history)
As other groundbreaking companies, Queengil began its success story in the field of drip irrigation with the vision and resolve of Mr. Gideon Gilead, who founded the company in 1987. At the time of its foundation, the agricultural irrigation industry was in its earliest stages. Mr. Gilead's vision was to provide growers with efficient and economical irrigation solutions which would also yield the growers the profits they deserved.
Our first product, the drip irrigation tape, utilizing plastic for drip irrigation tape, was first presented in 1989. Immediately upon its introduction, it was received worldwide by growers, who helped us understand that the requirements of growers were constantly changing and developing, and so we needed to be constantly aware in order to conform our products to their needs.
In 1992 our next irrigation product - drip tape - was launched, using novel and innovative turbocharged water low-flow technology which facilitated water pressure regulation at the drippers, ensuring uniform soil saturation even under inconsistent soil conditions or water pressure.
Three years later Queengil released a new line of irrigation tapes, which enabled the grower to stretch the hoses of multiple diameters to varying lengths, for use with various crops.
Queengil began to develop accessories in the field of irrigation: connectors and filters which supplement the line of drip irrigation products.
Gilead Dotan sees himself as his father's natural successor and shares his vision to bring growers and farmers world over the most efficient and economical products.
As part of this vision, Queengil has spared no efforts in order to invest in the development of new products and to upgrade existing ones. Today Queengil is considered one of the leading companies in its field.
Growers can rest assured that Queengil can provide an immediate solution to their every need.
Our production plant has grown and expanded fifteen fold from its date of establishment until 2004.
Prompt response to our customers' needs is of paramount importance.
Queengil has established an international model which includes distribution and service channels which growers everywhere have learned to rely on: the prompt and superior service we provide and the highly developed products that reach them at maximum speed. As a result, we facilitate efficiency and cost-effectiveness for our customers.
In 2000 we set up our USA distribution line.
Today, with more than 300 employees, Queengil enjoys international representation, and has representation in more than 70 global locations. The company is careful to preserve the vision and values of the company founder: commitment to its customers, suppliers and others with whom it has dealings, and to regard them as partners helping Queengil to become the ultimate choice for farmers and growers in the field of drip irrigation technology.

Why consider drip irrigation?
Drip irrigation can help you use water efficiently. A well-designed drip irrigation system loses practically no water to runoff, deep percolation, or evaporation. Drip irrigation reduces water contact with crop leaves, stems, and fruit. Thus conditions may be less favorable for the onset of diseases. Irrigation scheduling can be managed precisely to meet crop demands, holding the promise of increased yield and quality.
Growers and irrigation professionals often refer to "subsurface drip irrigation," or SDI. When a drip tape or tube is buried below the soil surface, it is less vulnerable to damage during cultivation or weeding. With SDI, water use efficiency is maximized because there is even less evaporation or runoff.
Agricultural chemicals can be applied more efficiently with drip irrigation. Since only the crop root zone is irrigated, nitrogen already in the soil is less subject to leaching losses, and applied fertilizer N can be used more efficiently. In the case of insecticides, less product might be needed. Make sure the insecticide is labeled for application through drip irrigation.
Additional advantages of drip irrigation include:
- Drip systems are adaptable to oddly shaped fields or those with uneven topography or soil texture; these specific factors must be considered in designing the drip system. Drip systems also can work well where other irrigation systems are inefficient because parts of the field have excessive infiltration, water puddling, or runoff.
- Drip irrigation can be helpful if water is scarce or expensive. Because evaporation, runoff, and deep percolation are reduced and irrigation uniformity is improved, it is not necessary to "over-water" parts of a field to adequately irrigate the more difficult parts.
- Precise application of nutrients is possible using drip irrigation. Fertilizer costs and nitrate losses can be reduced. Nutrient applications can be better timed to meet plants' needs.
- Drip irrigation systems can be designed and managed so that the wheel traffic rows are dry enough to allow tractor operations at any time. Timely application of herbicides, insecticides, and fungicides is possible.
- Proven yield and quality responses to drip irrigation have been observed in onion, broccoli, cauliflower, lettuce, melon, tomato, and cotton.
- A drip irrigation system can be automated.
Drip irrigation at The Drip Store, we provide drip irrigation, drip irrigation system, drip irrigation kits, drip irrigation emitters, drip irrigation accessories, drip irrigation fittings, filters, micro sprinklers, foggers, and battery operated controllers.
